The Environmental Council of the States (ECOS) met July 21 in Washington, D.C. for its annual State Environmental Protection Meeting themed "Making Connections: Water, Air, and Energy Innovation."
The dialogue between ECOS members, the private sector and NGOs included discussions of:
- Control of methane emissions and managing water use in relation to the extraction of natural gas.
- State responses to the recent water crises, particularly with regard to drinking water and wastewater infrastructure.
- State environmental agency involvement with integrated resource planning as it relates to developing modern energy infrastructure.
